Texas-based Grocery Chain Relies on PriceNet for Margin/Volume Control
Florham Park, NJ - April 13, 2011
Brookshire’s, a Texas-based grocery chain operating more than 80 fuel centers across 150 sites, has improved pricing execution company-wide using a suite of KSS Fuels pricing products. Brookshire’s has been running PriceNet, PriceNet Mobile and KSS Visualizer products from KSS Fuels for about two years.
Brookshire’s selected the KSS Fuels product suite to improve and simplify the fuel pricing process for gathering data that aids the pricing team in managing the fuels pricing process more effectively and efficiently. The company has seen numerous benefits from the PriceNet family of products to include timely market updates, margin and volume control and price documentation for all sites.
Rachel Gee, director of fuel operations of Brookshire’s Grocery, stated “PriceNet has helped us improve our reaction to market changes giving us better control of our margin and volume. With the extreme volatility of the retail fuel industry, it’s comforting to know that we have PriceNet to guide us in a direction of improved performance.”
Bob Stein, president and CEO of KSS Fuels said, “We are thrilled that Brookshire’s is being a proactive player in today’s volatile market. Being able to justify pricing decisions, having the confidence to make strategy changes and executing price changes rapidly are all part of a joint effort of PriceNet solutions and Brookshire’s pricing team.”
PriceNet is a comprehensive pricing solution that supports the key tasks and stakeholders involved in retail fuels pricing. High levels of automation and an ‘exception-based’ approach ensure a rapid response to competitors and market conditions and allow pricing analysts to leverage the power of pricing analytics. A family of products, PriceNet also includes PriceNet Mobile, which delivers real-time fuels pricing via handheld mobile devices such as PDAs and Blackberrys.
KSS Visualizer is a Web-based data visualization tool intended to quickly draw attention to significant changes in key performance measures such as volume, running rates, margins, competitor price position and more, at any level of the business from individual grade/store to overall network.
Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. was founded in 1928 and today operates more than 150 supermarkets under the Brookshire’s Food Stores and Super 1 Foods banners in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. More than 80 of them offer fuel centers.
